TOGETHER

we are sisters
clamping each other’s greasy hands.
our hair knits together and becomes one tangled mat.

you have the gooey throbbing heart
and i the pulsing whirring brain
our watery yellow blood pulses through each other's veins.

we sit on two wooden chairs
long wool skirts floating above the ground.
too far apart
we must be more together.

you look into my gray eyes
and i into yours
we see everything there
just sticky glue for one another.

this is my wobbling head
this is your looming hair.
we see all things together
write with the same cold pale hand.

you wear my frilly bonnet
i wear yours
we wear our own
together.
